BATH — “You Can Never Be Replaced” Dinner and Music Night, held on June 3 at Bath Elks Lodge, managed to raise plenty of money towards suicide prevention.

The evening featured pasta and garlic bread, salad, and dessert, plus live music and over 20 raffle prizes. Organized by Cristal Homan, of Bath, who lost her 14-year-old daughter to suicide in 2013, the event raised $1,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, part of a string of fundraisers organized by Homan this year.

“Local businesses like the Elks, Byrne’s Irish Pub, and the Galley Restaurant were extremely generous in helping me create a fun event, and I’m very grateful to them,” Homan said. “This was our first dinner and music night, and I’m thrilled to make such a substantial donation to the AFSP.”

Bath businesses such as Wilson’s Drug, Pamela’s World, Now You’re Cooking, and Jamison’s Trading Post and Pawn donated raffle prizes. Live music was provided by Diamonds in the Rough and Dark Rain.

Homan hopes to make it a recurring event each summer. For information on Bath’s upcoming Out of the Darkness walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, visit afsp.donordrive.com, where you can search for walks by location, or contact co-chair Homan at [email protected]
