BRUNSWICK — Brunswick Downtown Association’s Early Bird Sale and Rolling Slumber Bed Race is scheduled for Saturday.

The 7th annual Rolling Slumber Bed Races will begin at 11 a.m. on Park Row. To commemorate Veteran’s Day, BDA volunteers have arranged for a military color guard to lead the pre-race bed parade. The Brunswick American Legion Post 20 will participate in the bed parade and distribute remembrance poppies before and after the race.

“We’re very honored that we are able to hold this years’ event on Veterans Day,” said Patti Spencer-Yost, BDA marketing and communications coordinator, “we certainly want to show our gratitude to the men and women who served, and are currently serving our country, in any way we can.”

A variety of other activities will be taking place during the event: CHANS Home Health Care will host a free flu shot clinic from 7 to 11 a.m., at the Tontine Mall, and a bouncy house, balloons, and free hot cocoa, donated by Pathway Vineyard Church, will be set up on the Town Mall at 10:30 a.m..
