Or the profound slew of defunct acts getting back together and inspiring fans to take out a second mortgage just to go see them (we did that story already). Or Amy Winehouse’s unforgettably disastrous year. Something along these lines.

AUGUSTA - Maine's 49 newest police officers have graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. The keynote speaker was Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe. The new officers completed 18 weeks of study and training and come from the state, county and municipal ranks. Among the topics studied by the new officers were criminal and traffic law, domestic violence, firearms, first aid, crime scene processing, sexual assault and emergency vehicle operation. The new officers are:
