Once again, I had an entertaining time talking with Kevin O’Leary, co-founder and Artistic Director of the Lanyard Theatre Company in Bath. It is an intense experience to linger over a cup of coffee with an actor, never mind a playwright. O’Leary’s original play, The Chief Engineer, will premier at the Chocolate Church Curtis Room Annex in December.

When you take the “L” train to Williamsburg from Union Square, it’s a good idea to have the trip rigorously sound-tracked.  My persistence in denying myself an iPod means that I still carry those silly CDs and even sillier CD players with me.  The chances that I would bother to unload one CD in exchange for another on the way to Brooklyn were always minimal, so I had to make the high-pressure decision of which album I’d be taking with me.

Down at Turning Tide Cottage, we spent almost the whole weekend tidying up - I mean a major tidy-up, not the pathetic swipes we are used to doling out - and it became apparent to both of us almost right away that we are just not prepared for getting old.

What part of NO . . . ? PDF Print E-mail
Until the election, Scott Houldin and Twin River Energy were adamant ... they were going to let the people of Wiscasset have the final word.   If the people voted against the height change ordinance, Twin River would take that as proof that the town ... not just “outsiders” from Edgecomb and Westport Island and Boothbay Harbor and Woolwich and Bath ... didn’t want Twin River to pursue the coal fired gasification plant in Wiscasset.

Zach Washburn is a kid with a heart who broke ours.  He is working toward his Eagle Scout designation, and his idea ... a very good one ... is to make Christmas brighter for the 140 teens from the Portland Department of Health and Human Services who are in foster care.
