BOOTHBAY HARBOR - Now in it's 28th year, Boothbay Harbor's Lincoln Arts Festival announces another brilliant season, honoring the memory of our Co-Founder, Captain Marion Dash.  Beginning with a dream of a yearly classical concert, LAF now offers a kaleidoscope of programs, starting with an Accordion Ensemble, The Maine Squeeze, to be held at St. Columba's Episcopal church of July 8 at 7:30.

skidompha_pimlico.jpeg DAMARISCOTTA - “Passport to Pimlico” (1949) starring Stanley Holloway, Betty Warren, Barbara Murray will be shown at 5 and 7:30 p.m., Monday, June 30 at Skidompha Library’s Porter Meeting Hall, Elm Street entrance.  Critics agree, “Passport to Pimlico"  is one of the most hilariously funny British films ever made. It is a product of the legendary Ealing Studios which, in its brief time, produced the best of British comedy cinema.  If you enjoyed “The Lavender Hill Mob”, “The Ladykillers”, and “Kind Hearts and Coronets”, you will really enjoy “Passport to Pimlico.”

NEWCASTLE – Gallery 170 opens for the season on Saturday, June 28 with an exhibit of paintings by Winslow Myers at the gallery’s new location in a historic church at 123 Borland Hill Road in Damariscotta Mills. A reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on opening day.
 
"The Secret Garden" opens at The Boothbay Playhouse PDF Print E-mail
BOOTHBAY - Based on the classic novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett and with an almost operatic score by Lucy Simon, "The Secret Garden", opening July 2 at the Boothbay Playhouse creates a world where lost loves are found and lost lives are saved.  It is a Victorian thriller full of mystery and romance with some of the most beautiful music ever written for Broadway.   A story that will delight all ages, "The Secret Garden" will be presented July 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. with one Matinee on Sunday July 6 at 2 p.m..  Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for children twelve and under, and may be purchased at the Boothbay Playhouse Box-Office or by calling 633-3379.

Region Historical Society, Tuesday, June 24, at 4 p.m. Her talk, at the society’s museum, 72 Oak St., Boothbay Harbor, is open to the public, free of charge
