If you still even OWN a television after the primaries, the latest series of insipid presidential political ads are enough to make you run screaming for the hills. Neither party can be said to have the moral high ground, although perhaps Obama’s feet are a tad bit drier than McCain’s at the moment. It hardly matters. This campaign cannot be about whether Obama fancies himself a rock star, or whether McCain can’t seem to remember that Czechoslovakia hasn’t been a country for sixteen years.

There are several things we know we need to do in the very near future. We as a nation need to get off foreign oil as soon as possible, and fossil fuels shortly after that. Both candidates for president have made statements about a national mandate ... to do the things we need to do as a great nationwide project, like the Apollo Moon shot project in the sixties.
