Midcoast LIHEAP taken over by state |

BATH - Just as thousands of Sagadahoc residents are getting ready to bring their tax forms and medical bills down to Midcoast Commuity Action Program (CAP) to sign up for Low Income Heating and Energy Program (LIHEAP), many of them are getting telephone calls and letters canceling their appointments. Callers to CAP are being directed to call Maine State Housing.

End of an era: Thomas Point Bluegrass Festival goes out on top |

The 30th Annual Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival, held this past weekend in Brunswick, marked the high point in the festival’s history. The campground overflowed into the overflow parking area; the nation’s top acts came to play; the weather was fair, if a little muggy early on -- lots of great music, tons of great food, kids underfoot everywhere you walked. It was a beautiful event.
