Maine Credit Unions offer special loan programs to help consumers heat homes PDF Print E-mail
WESTBROOK - A recent survey by the Maine Credit Union League found that nearly two-thirds of the state's credit unions are offering some sort of fuel assistance loans with some offering rates as low as 0% and an average loan rate of only 4.97%, with generous repayment terms offered.  The survey also found that Maine credit unions have plenty of available funds to lend to consumers for these special loan programs as well as all other types of loans.

BRUNSWICK -- As the world watches the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Bowdoin remembers Dr. Daniel Hanley, of the Bowdoin College Class of 1939, a pioneer in the field of sports medicine. Hanley spent his career helping Bowdoin's athletes and was chief physician for the U.S. Olympic team from 1964 to 1972.

Blethen Maine announces letter of intent for sale to local investors PDF Print E-mail

PORTLAND - Frank Blethen, Chairman of Blethen Maine Newspapers (BMN), announced that the company has signed a letter of intent on Wednesday, July 30, with Maine Media Investments, LLC, a Maine-based investor group. The letter of intent provides a limited exclusive time period to negotiate terms for the sale of BMN’s assets. Maine Media anticipates that BMN employees will have an opportunity to share in the ownership of the new company.
