Ethanol not the way to go |

David Pimentel’s article “Corn Can’t Save Us: Debunking the Biofuel Myth” [Coastal Journal, February 28] is a superb commentary, joining others of similar conclusions.
I would like to add one other factor which was written of by Daven A.
Ridenour [Maine Sunday Telegram, February 17]. “Ethanol is so
corrosive that it cannot be transported by pipelines and must be hauled
overland by tanker trucks ... [this] leaves a carbon footprint that
criss-crosses the United States tens of thousands of times a day.”
One wonders when our Washington legislators will finally recognize the biofuel myth.
