He hit the nail right on the head in his article.

 How is it possible that an organization which calls itself Public Radio let such a talented writer-entertainer go?  He knows what is going on in the world and is willing to share such knowledge with the world and present it in such a manner that it makes the reader or listener think about the subject he chooses to address?

 He should be commended for his current focus on sharing his experiences while a crew is in the process of installing a solar hot water system at his house, as well as a photo voltaic system, showing by example that he is willing to do his share in limiting his carbon footprint by having his hot water (partially) heated by the sun's rays and produce some domestic electricity and which he can sell to his electric provider when he produces more electricity than he is using while making use of the sun's rays, which are not taxed, at least not yet.
