Can we work together to help? PDF Print E-mail
Even though the sun is shining and the flags are waving in a warm, humid breeze, soon enough the cold winter winds will howl and many, if not most of us, will be looking for a way to heat our homes economically.   There will be those of us who can’t do it, because they are on fixed or low incomes, or because they were one of the many who lost a job due to the downturn of the economy.

We want to partner with agencies and businesses to help those who cannot help themselves this year.

The Coastal Journal would like to hear from volunteers who would like to help folks winterize in our area.  We’d like to hear from people who need help winterizing.  And we’d like to hear from businesses who can help provide some of the materials necessary.

Some of the work is relatively simple, but may beyond the ability of a senior citizen, such as putting up storm windows, caulking around windows, or putting in fresh weather stripping.

Even if you can only give a few hours, or a few dollars worth of supplies, we’d like to hear from you.  We’ll put you in touch with people who can really use the help.  And we’ll be out there with our caulk guns and hammers, too.

If you can help in any way, or need help, please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it   Thank you!
