15th Annual Woolwich Day Celebration |

WOOLWICH - The Woolwich Recreation Committee and historical Society are sponsoring a 15th Annual Woolwich Celebration on Saturday, August 2. Woolwich Day will begin with a six mile road race and 9 a.m. featuring paved and dirt roads. Call Bob Meade at 443-2580 for registration information.
It will continue with a Market Place of more than thirty local vendors and craftpeople including a bake and yard sale, a silent auction and a fiber arts show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Municipal Building Complex. Woolwich resident Kelly Corbett will be on hand with her loveable sheep. The types of crafts include beaded and sea glass jewelry, hand crafted wood products, flowers, novelty banks and kids, antiques, bees wax hand cream, and other crafts.
In addition, Maine Children’s author Sarah Sherman McGrail of Southport will be present and do readings from her book “The Littlest Tugboat.” A children’s waterslide will be awaiting the adventurous.
Music will be provided by Eastman Entertainment.
A long time favorite, Tod & Phil’s famous chicken barbecue will be held in Nequasset Park starting at 5 p.m. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased that evening. FMI please call 442-7094.
