John Maguire, who has served as our editor for more than three months now, is making some changes in his life. As a result, his role at the CJ is transforming to reporter effective immediately. John has worked hard to do a great job for us and I am grateful to him for it. I know many of you have appreciated his work as well. We are fortunate he is staying on in this capacity. I am assuming the editor's responsibilities.
On another subject, I would like to thank all of you, our readers. In the past few months we have made many changes in the style and substance of the paper. You have responded very positively by reading it each week. In fact the number of you that have been reading it has increased markedly. More people are reading The Coastal Journal than any other publication of any kind in the midcoast region. Though our paper is free to the reader, it provides information about the businesses that support us and the work we do, so that you can then support them by making purchases of the products that they offer and you need or desire. In this way, we keep our dollars local, recycling those dollars through the local economy, thereby reducing our tax burden.
Thank you for reading The Coastal Journal and for supporting the businesses that support us.
Bruce M. Hardina, Editor & Publisher
