For two weeks now, I have been receiving letters, emails and phone calls. I've been stopped in the street with words of support, guidance and friendship in response to my commentary in which I told the story of my near demise just recently. I wish to thank all of you who have reached out to me and have been so kind. I am truly moved and reminded over and over again how supportive and loving our Midcoast community is. Thank you again.
A few days ago I was on the treadmill in our basement doing my very early morning exercises when I heard something. I looked to my left and saw my daughter Olivia pouting on the basement steps. I said "What's the matter sweetie?" "I had a bad dream" she replied. I stopped the treadmill and got off. She didn't remember much other than there was a serpent in it. We walked upstairs and snuggled on a living room chair for a few minutes. Then I grabbed a blanket and we laid on the floor. She pulled my hand to her face, kissed it and said "I love you daddy." I said, "I love you too sweetheart," and kissed her head. Then we closed our eyes. I really am so grateful to be here.
