Handicap accessibility in Brunswick PDF Print
August 25, 2011

Recently, I traveled to Brunswick to hear a great blues band in the park. My expectations were exceeded. The dark cloud surrounding this event was the stage area is not user friendly. Handicapped individuals are in need of safe access to and from the stage area. This would be a great community service for volunteers, both architecturally and the desire to help build access. There is a street just behind gazebo [that] goes to the Elks, possibly, that is on the level. Maybe the town mothers and fathers are aware of this issue. Being from away, I might not be. I look forward to any input. Thanks for caring. If I had a hammer, I would help.

Thanks from Cundy’s Harbor Library PDF Print
August 25, 2011

The Board of Cundy's Harbor Library is grateful for the continued show of great community support. At our recent book sale, a large amount of quality books were donated, making the browsing especially exciting. To the donors and buyers who attended, thank you!

The July book sale included a bake sale as well. The food donations were fantastic, bringing people back for more. Thanks to those who donated food and served as sales persons at the sale. Volunteers are an essential part of library programs and events.

The Library relies on the Annual Book Sale, our biggest fundraising event aside from the Annual Appeal. The community helped us reach that goal and enables us to expand programs and offer more library services. Thank you all.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank David Trahan for his work in Augusta, including helping the shellfish industry many times. I would also like to congratulate David on his new position as Executive Director at the Sportsman Alliance of Maine (SAM). He will be a great asset to our organization. Again, David, thank you, and congratulations.
