We live in a binary reality — or at least, some of us do, but definitely most of the time. In the world of gender, you've got your males and you've got your females. In the world of politics, you've got your liberals and you’ve got your conservatives. In the world of beer, you've got your lagers and you've got your ales. This simplification of reality promotes faster, leaner, cleaner thinking, especially in the realm of politics: It’s either black or white, good or bad, liberal or conservative. It’s all so very easy.

The second show in the Maine State Music Theater's A Light Crazy Dirty Drowsy Summer opened to a packed house on Thursday June 25. Crazy for You is a lighthearted, cotton candy treat of a show for everyone to enjoy. An offset of the Gershwin Brothers Girl Crazy, Crazy for You is a feel good collection of some of Ira Gershwin's best and most well known songs wrapped in a plot that would make anyone leave the theater smiling.

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays basically owned the American League cellar up until postseason 2007, when majority owner Stuart Sternberg decided to change the team’s name from “Tampa Bay Devil Rays" to "Tampa Bay Rays." Maybe he was thinking about animal rights advocate Steve Irwin getting mortally skewered by a stingray the year before, or maybe he was thinking about the baggage that comes with associating your team with the Prince of Darkness. In any event, Sternberg explained the new name by referring to the team as “[a] beacon that radiates throughout Tampa Bay and across the entire state of Florida.”
