BATH — September is National Literacy Month and Tri-County Literacy is collaborating with local libraries and books stores to celebrate the occasion.

From 10 a.m. to noon, volunteers will be at local bookstores in the tri-county area to read aloud children’s books and do a craft project related to the book. Read alouds and book give-aways will be at the libraries from 1 to 3 p.m.

Participating bookstores and libraries are: Sherman’s in Freeport and Freeport Community Library; Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick; Mustard Seed and Patten Free Library in Bath; and Sherman’s Maine Coast Book Store and Skidompha Library in Damariscotta.
