BRUNSWICK — Thornton Oaks Retirement Community presents “Images of a Lifetime: 90 Years and Counting,” an exhibit by photojournalist Robert A. Freson. The exhibit opening is at 4 p.m. Oct. 4. Freson will discuss his work and respond to questions.

Freson was born in Belgium in 1926. He studied at the College St. Pierre in Brussels until 1944 during the German Occupation of World War II. He later attended l’Ecole des Arts et Metiers in Vevey, Switzerland where he studied for three years and received a master’s degree in photography.

He immigrated to the United States in 1948 and became a citizen in 1952. His first job was in New York working with the late Irving Penn in the field of photo-journalism. Over the course of his career, he has photographed dozens of celebrities, contributed to many publications and earned numerous international awards for his work.

The exhibit remains open to the public during select times throughout October. Call 373-4600 to find out times the exhibit is available for viewing.
