I want to encourage my fellow West Bath Democrats to attend the 2018 Maine Democratic Party Caucus on Sunday, March 4. There is much at stake this year, and the caucus gives local Dems a unique opportunity to get together, discuss issues important to us both locally and statewide, and to identify different ways to get involved in 2018 campaigns.

This year, we’ll also be part of a statewide virtual rally — caucus groups all over the state will be making signs describing what Democratic victory means to them and sharing on social media through #VictoryStartsHere!

The caucus is our first chance to stand up and be counted as West Bath Democrats. This is where real progress starts in Maine — with all of us, working together on the local level and getting organized early to elect Democrats in 2018. Our caucus will be meeting at 4 p.m. at our West Bath Fire Hall and doors will be open at 3:30 p.m. for new voter registration and to support mingling with fellow West Bath voters.

I hope to see all West Bath Democrats there. Whether you’ve never been to a caucus or have caucused many times before, we need your voice to join in! Democrats can pre-register through March 2 at my.mainedems.org/caucus/prereg, though it’s not required to participate. If you do pre-register, please print and bring your pre-registration form for your use at the Caucus.

In case of severe weather causing postponement, the delay will be posted on NewsCenter Maine and the snow date will be the following Sunday, March 11, at the Fire Hall with doors opening at 4 p.m. for a 4:30 p.m. Caucus kickoff.
