Police say a 14-year-old boy who had been missing since Monday night was found Tuesday afternoon.

Jennifer Parker posted on Facebook a photo and description of her son, Dakota, who she said was last seen with two older boys at Shaw’s in Bath at 9:30 p.m. Monday.

She wrote to The Times Record in a Facebook message that her son had messaged one of her former coworkers, “ telling him he needs help ASAP,” and then was not heard from after.

At around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday though, she posted he’d been found safe.

In another message, she told The Times Record that her son had been found on Wing Farm Parkway in Bath in a tent with a group of kids. She said he was shaken up after the experience.

Bath Police Lt. Robert Savary confirmed early Tuesday afternoon that police were searching for the teen, who said he was coming home Monday night but never showed up, prompting a call to police from his mother at around 10 p.m. He said police had been checking with friends the boy could be with and his usual hangouts.

Later Tuesday, Savary confirmed Dakota had been found on Wing Farm Parkway, but had no further information, stating officers were still talking to him.
