On Saturday, July 28, the Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association is hosting the third annual Hook, Line & Dinner party and fundraiser at Cook’s Lobster & Ale House located on Bailey Island.

Guests will eat a fresh, locally caught seafood dinner supplied by Maine fishermen and drink brews from Allagash Brewing Company, Definitive Brewing Company, Flight Deck Brewing, and Rising Tide Brewing Co.

The Mallett Brothers Band, who are from Maine, will perform a concert on the shore. Other festivities include a silent auction, yard games and more.

“Maine’s fishermen are an integral part of Maine’s identity and economy. They are part what makes Maine so special to those who live here and visit. Our fishing culture is something to celebrate and protect” said Gerry Cushman, MCFA Board Chairman and fifth generation fishermen from Port Clyde. “This event enables us to raise awareness about our work with fishermen while raising funds for our programs that help ensure a vibrant and sustainable future for our coast.”

Tickets for the event are $100 for general admission and $150 for VIP and can be purchased by visiting the Fishermen’s Association website at mainecoastfishermen.org. VIP tickets include early admission, oyster bar provided by Lanes Island Oyster Co. and Mere Point Oyster Company, and a welcome toast with specialty cocktails provided by Beam Suntory Inc. and Green Bee.

“We are excited to celebrate the third annual party, which brings the community and fishermen together for a lively night devoted to Maine’s fishermen and fishing communities,” said Ben Martens, executive director of Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association.

Funds raised from the Hook, Line, and Dinner and other MCFA events directly support the Fishermen’s Association’s work to sustain Maine’s fishing resources and fishing communities for this and future generations.

The Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association is an industry-based nonprofit that identifies and fosters ways to restore the fisheries of the Gulf of Maine and sustain Maine’s fishing communities for future generations.
