The Grand Orange Arts Center is preparing for two weeks of fine art camp for teens at the Brunswick location. The first week of camp is Aug. 20-24, and the second week is Aug. 27-31.

The first week of camp will focus on 2-dimensional art instruction including illustration and watercolor painting. There will be two days of drawing instruction, and there will also be two days of watercolor instruction where participants can will take part in an immersive exploration of color and technique.

Participants will also speak with local artists and visit galleries and museums with to learn how to communicate likes and dislikes of art work and inspire future projects. At the end of the session, there will be a studio walkthrough to show the work that the participants created during the week.

The second week of art camp will focus on 3-dimensional artwork. There will be two days of screen-printing instruction where participants will leave with shirts and artwork they designed themselves. There will also be two days of mixed media paper sculpture where participants will deconstruct old dictionaries and create a sculpture using unique and innovative techniques.

The cost is $500/week including all supplies. The Grand Orange Arts Center is located 57 1/2 Maine Street.
